Risca Fun Day supported by local housing Company

With temperatures soaring into the 90s, hundreds of people turned up to Risca Rugby Club’s family fun day to enjoy an afternoon of music, chilled refreshments, a BBQ and great sporting rivalry!

The day was a huge success, in particular the inaugural touch rugby and football match which took place between Risca RFC and Risca AFC. Sponsored by local housing company serenliving, the hard fought match in sweltering conditions, was a surprising draw, with the trophy being shared by the victorious teams! It is hoped that the match will now become an annual event.

Tim Beckingsale, Head of Sales & Property Management at serenliving said ‘We are delighted to have sponsored the family fun day at Risca RFC. Serenliving is currently developing new homes in Risca, and we are always keen to support the communities we work in.’

Serenliving is building an exclusive development of 14 two and three bedroom homes, along the canalside at Moriah Mews, Risca. All the homes will be available for sale with prices starting at £145,000, including a number which will be offered through Serenliving’s shared ownership scheme. The fun day trophy was made by Cre8, a social enterprise run by homeless charity Solas Cymru, to provide creative opportunities for volunteering, training and employment in a real ‘work place’ environment for the people that Solas support.

Serenliving and Solas are both part of the Seren Group.
